The Football Federation of the Valencian Community (FFCV) wishes to first express its sadness and shock over the events caused by the severe DANA storm, which has devastated much of the province of Valencia. The FFCV sends its most sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives, on behalf of Valencian football and futsal, and extends its full support and understanding to those affected by this disaster.
The FFCV also wishes to acknowledge all security forces, civil protection units, emergency services, firefighters, and other authorities who are tirelessly working to mitigate the damage. The bravery of those anonymous heroes who saved lives last night through their determination and courage is truly commendable.
Therefore, as a sign of solidarity and respect for those impacted, the FFCV has decided to postpone all games scheduled for this upcoming matchday in the Valencian Community (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) across all territorial categories, including youth and amateur football and futsal, as well as national competitions managed by the FFCV: the Tercera Federación and National Youth League for football, and the Tercera División in futsal.
The FFCV has also proposed that a moment of silence be observed at all games in the following matchday across fields in the Valencian Community.
The FFCV expresses its gratitude for the multitude of condolence messages received from the football community in response to this tragedy. All clubs are encouraged to publicly share their condolences on social media and to engage in any activity that supports the victims.
From Unión Deportiva Ilicitana, we also extend our deepest condolences to all those affected by this devastating storm. Our hearts go out to the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones, and we stand in solidarity with the communities impacted. UD Ilicitana is committed to supporting recovery efforts and honoring the memory of those we have lost.
